Folks may be fleeing the city for summer sojourns overseas but, with drier spells in view, there’s plenty of summery goodness to enjoy across the city this month. A new pop-up has landed in Selfridges, perfect for jewellery lovers. Featuring a curated edit of 886’s signature designs, expect to see e-waste gold and x-ray silver (extracted from the likes of circuit boards and medical x-ray films) creations, including the Poem Cuff, Caustic pendants and bold Tutamen collection. Sustainability never looked so luxurious.

Woof About
London has plenty of weekend markets – but none quite like this. Every Saturday in August from 11am–5pm, Woof About market (or should we say barket) will welcome furry friends of all shapes and sizes to Islington – and their owners, of course. Running alongside the weekly Urban Food Fest market (so humans can have a bite to eat), expect pop-up stalls from the likes of Butternut Box, The Sociable Pup, When Dogs and more. And on 3 August, a dog portrait artist will kick off the series with a woof.

Attend An Art Class
Sharpen your art skills this month, guided by expert artist Angela Murray at Quote and Curate, the first artist in residence at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour. Choose between watercolour and Still Life to refine your techniques and spark your creativity.

Dine & Watch Slave Play
Jeremy O’Harris’s Slave Play has officially opened at London’s Noël Coward Theatre, starring Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington. To mark the occasion, Haymarket Hotel has partnered with Delfont Mackintosh Theatres to invite guests for dinner before the show, with a special dinner-ticket bundle. What a cultural way to spend the evening.

Home Farm Supper At Heckfield Place
Just outside London, the UK’s oldest fine wine and spirits merchant, Berry Bros. & Rudd will co-host a one off event with celebrated chef Skye Gyngell this August. Taking place at Heckfield Place, guests can expect unique sharing style long-table event at the heart of the hotel’s biodynamic market garden. With a menu prepared by Skye and her team shaped entirely around the very best ingredients and organic produce in season at Home Farm, the supper will celebrate late summer’s abundance and Berry Bros. & Rudd’s Barbara Drew MW will walk guests through the biodynamic wine selection perfectly paired with the food offering.

Join one of Grandirosa’s floral specialists at Kerala this month to learn all about the art of sustainable centrepiece making – before tucking into a delicious three-course Michelin-starred lunch with a Tanqueray 10 Kerala cocktail. Jewellery Workshop

Embodied Surfaces At Chelsea Physic Garden
A unique interdisciplinary event will be showcased at Chelsea Physic Garden this month exploring the connection between body art and nature. Celebrated botanical tattoo artist Daniel the Gardener will create a custom tattoo inspired by the Garden’s medicinal plants, and one audience member will receive this tattoo during the event, symbolising their bond with nature. Meanwhile, guests can enjoy the garden, an exhibition of Daniel’s work, live music and food and themed cocktails.

Fireside Feasts At Petersham Nurseries
At the end of August, Petersham Nurseries will host their very first outdoor fireside feast just a five minute walk from the Richmond nurseries, surrounded by woodland beside the river. Guests will be greeted with a welcome drink, before joining fellow guests at a banqueting table to enjoy a seasonal four-course feast with live acoustic music throughout the evening.

Live Music In The City
Hidden on the first floor of the magnificent Royal Exchange in the heart of the City, Engel is a newly launched cocktail bar, drawing on 1920s Berlin for red-velvet infused speakeasy vibes. Every Wednesday and Thursday, the bar will host cabaret and jazz evenings, set against the backdrop of the Royal Exchange’s elegant arches.
