Art in Clay will bring together a record number of more than 200 ceramic artists when it opens its doors at Hatfield House, Hertfordshire from 17-19 August, showcasing the finest ceramics currently being created by individual makers in the UK and Europe.
Europe’s prestigious ceramic arts festival will heat up an already scorching summer with the sparks of creativity from internationally renowned ceramicists and innovative new talent.
Art in Clay: A Red Carpet Event For Ceramics at Hatfield House
This highlight of the ceramic art calendar, now in its 24th year, brings together leading names such as Jim Malone, Eddie Curtis, Nicola Theakston, Jin Eui Kim, Brendan Hesmondhalgh, James Oughtibridge, Peter Beard and Tony Laverick.
The artwork is available to buy and discerning collectors will be eying up pieces by newcomers like Rhiannon Evans, Alice McIlroy, Tom Peterson and Joshua Schoeman.
In addition to the 200 exhibitors showcasing their art, a full daily programme will include ceramic talks and demonstrations for those with an interest in furthering their ceramic knowledge and expertise. A Clay Creation Zone will fire up both children and adults’ imagination with options to throw a pot on a potter’s wheel, have a go at Raku or make a creation by hand with guidance from an experienced potter. Exhibitor awards will be presented including The Valentine Clays Peers Award and The Potclays Student Award, which recognises an outstanding peer and newcomer to the world of pottery and ceramics.

Where & When: Art in Clay opens its doors 17-18 August from 10am to 5.30pm, and on Sunday 20th from 10am to 5pm. Admission prices are Adult £11, Concession £10.50, Two-Day Ticket £19, Three-Day Ticket £27. Children aged 15 and under go FREE.
