Prepare to be terrifyingly invigorated and spookily enticed – Ghost Stories, the spine-tinglingly chilling live production, is returning to Lyric Hammersmith this March. It’s scary enough to warrant the following ‘turn back now’ sign:
WARNING. Please be advised that Ghost Stories contains moments of extreme shock and tension. The show is unsuitable for anyone under the age of 15. We strongly advise those of a nervous disposition to think very seriously before attending.
Now that the faint-hearted are safe, on with the gory details. Ghost Stories is both a hit movie and a live production, with a storyline that follows Professor Phillip Goodman, whose life is devoted to exposing supernatural frauds and fake psychics. The live production launched at the Lyric Hammersmith nine years ago and since then, both the West End production and the movie have gone on to receive rave reviews. It travelled to Germany, Canada, Australia, Shanghai and Italy and is returning to London’s Lyric Hammersmith to terrify and thrill an audience this March. Ghost Stories is a cult smash hit, and written by Jeremy Dyson of The League of Gentlemen and Andy Nyman of Death at a Funeral, it is clearly not one for horror/thriller fans to miss.
The exciting announcement of this nerve-crumbling comeback is part of Lyric Hammersmiths’ Spring 2019 season, programmed by outgoing artistic director Sean Holmes. The Spring programme boasts some of his most successful productions alongside a showcase of new work, reflecting the theatre’s commitment to nurturing young talent.
“Our new spring season is everything I’ve always strived for the Lyric to be – provocative, entertaining and eclectic bringing the best theatre artists to our beautiful Hammersmith home” – Sean Holmes
