A plush Ibizan hotel overlooking the neighbouring island of Es Vedra
This five-star hotel on the west coast of Ibiza has established itself as one of the island’s most luxurious destinations, since opening in 2018, says Georgie Bentley-Buckle. When she visited 7Pines Ibiza, Georgie discovered a serene and sophisticated hotel, illuminated by the island’s golden sunsets each evening.
Review: 7Pines Ibiza
Where
The edge of a pine forest bordering the sea on the west coast of the island, between the islands Cala Conta and Cala Codolar with unobstructed views of Es Vedra.
What
A spacious all-suite clifftop resort that is part of the Destination by Hyatt group.
Why
Epitomising the laid-back but luxurious side to this famously hedonistic island, 7Pines is a sleek, simplistic and spacious hotel that has settled itself on a cliff edge with a dramatic ocean vista which frames Es Vedra: an uninhabited rock that is thought to be one of the world’s most magnetic centre points. This positive energy wraps around the widespread and low-rise villa resort – among its 185 suits, cerulean infinity pool, spa, gym and two restaurants.
Designed to be the height of laid-back luxury with subtle touches of ‘Ibizan flair’, each of the whitewashed Ibicenco-style homes embody the island’s authentic character with contemporary touches, making it a home from home for those looking to settle themselves into a slower pace of island life.
The two restaurants, Cone Club and The View enjoy front row spots overlooking the expanse of the Mediterranean Sea. The casual little sister is Cone Club where breakfast is served each morning offering fresh fruits, pastries, juices and hot à la carte dishes such as eggs benedict. Here vibrant and cheerful décor offers a relaxed setting to watch the sun drop below the horizon with a menu offering a taste of island life, from hand sliced Iberico ham, croquettas and Mediterranean seabass with jugs of sangria.
Meanwhile, upstairs The View is (which is now considered one of the finest fine-dining restaurants on the island) offers a variety of Mediterranean inspired tasting menus that have been reinterpreted with modern touches. Wrapped within a 40-metre glassed façade, set at the edge of the cliff , The View (as it’s described) offers the very best spot to watch the sunset with a carousel of meticulously presented dishes. These include veal sweetbread with black truffle, to beef tenderloin and seabass with wild fennel flower combined with wine pairings from the sommelier.
Next door is Pure Seven where the spa and gym can be found. Located in the centre of the property and described as ‘the soul of the resort’, much like the rest of the hotel, this wellbeing bubble is inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle and energy of Ibiza. A place that will reconnect the body and mind, the holistic and therapeutic approach throughout their nature inspired treatments use salt from the ocean and local herbs across massages, facials, wraps, scrubs and rituals. Meanwhile, the gym’s leading personal trainers who offer everything from yoga and meditation to HIIT, mobility and stretching and guided running.
