The Queen’s Jubilee – and the all-exciting four-day weekend – is fast approaching. Whether you’re planning a garden get-together or a celebratory street party, drinks are bound to be a necessity. These two specially curated cocktails use Panamanian Ron Abuelo rum. Since Panama was the first country HRH Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip visited as part of her first royal duty, these cocktails are the perfect tipple to toast the Queen on the big day.

The Glorious
Ingredients
- 45 ml – Ron Abuelo 12 Años
- 20 ml – Fresh lime juice
- 20 ml – Sugar syrup (2:1)
- 4 Dashes – Angostura bitters
- 8-10 Fresh mint leaves
- Top off with Champagne or dry sparkling wine
Technique
- Shake and double strain into a coupette or large flute
- Top off with Champagne or dry sparkling wine, stir gently and garnish.
Garnish
- Orange peel and/or fresh mint spring
Barú
Ingredients
- 60 ml – Ron Abuelo 12 Años
- 15 ml – Punt E Mes vermouth
- 15 ml – Maple syrup
- 4 Dashes – Angostura bitters
Technique
- Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass
- Pour into a tumbler glass over ice and garnish.
Garnish
- Pink grapefruit peel and amarena cherry.
