Say hello to the Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 Low 1837

Sneakerheads and luxury lovers gather round: an exciting new collaboration between Tiffany & Co. and Nike is set to hit stores this March.

Tiffany & Co. And Nike Announce New Collaboration For 2023

While an iconic staple in the global jewellery landscape, Tiffany & Co. has experienced something akin to a renaissance in recent years. The brand, which is over 185 years old, has secured itself a throne within modern pop culture – whether for its runway takeover of the Fendi baguette bag for SS23, for spearheading its 2021 ‘About Love’ campaign with pop powerhouses BeyoncĂ© and Jay-Z or even for its appointment of K-Pop singer RosĂ© (of BLACKPINK  fame) as its global ambassador, is up to you.

For the first time ever though, the jeweller is immersing itself in the world of shoe design through a collaboration with legendary footwear label Nike. Following the leaked release of product images in late January 2023, the two brands launched an early tease of its collaborative campaign, titled ‘A Legendary Pair’.

The first announcement concerning the new collaboration came on Monday 30 January 2023, when both brands to their social media channels to tease the upcoming release. A double-page spread in the New York Times also featured the teaser, which showcased a Tiffany blue shoebox featuring the Nike logo alongside the campaign’s slogan.

A day later, the main highlight of the collection was revealed: the Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 Low 1837. Crafted from suede and leather, the black sneaker is a take on one of Nike’s most renowned shoe designs. But why the name ‘1837’? This is a reference to Tiffany & Co.’s founding year.

Visual references to the luxury jewellery house are scattered throughout the design, from the Tiffany blue tick emblazoned on the sides of the shoe to the Tiffany & Co. wordmark tongue label in a vintage, silver-threaded looping cursive. An engraved silver Tiffany & Co. charm can also be seen on the back of each heel.

The trainer isn’t the only thing that was unveiled, either. A range of sterling silver accessories – all sportswear related – will also be available to shop within the collaboration collection. A play on the intersection between the refined jewellery pieces from Tiffany & Co. and Nike’s iconic footwear, fans will have the chance to get their hands on a shoe horn, a shoe brush, a deubrĂ© (an ornamental shoelace tag) and a whistle chain, all displaying Nike and Tiffany & Co. logo.
