The Curriculum
Students are taught by passionate, knowledgeable and committed teachers. They achieve outstanding academic, sports and arts results. Pupils are encouraged to develop skills and the character to set them apart.
Games & the Arts
Sherfield offers pupils an enormous range of sports and arts activities. We have two recording studios, a theatre, design technology lab and pottery studio. We have sports teams at all levels and play regular fixtures through the seasons.
Pastoral Care
We place great emphasis on empathy, motivation and social and cultural awareness and pupil wellbeing is at the heart of Sherfield from our youngest to most senior students. Learning is tailored to your child’s talents and needs and supported within our smaller class sizes. ‘One of the strongest elements of school and extra praise should go to the pastoral team,’ says one year 10 parent.
University Places
Pupils have gone on to study at an impressive range of universities.
Head Teacher’s Philosophy
As a school community, we challenge, inspire and support each other as we create and imagine our best futures. We pride ourselves on our close relationship with parents and place great value on individual contact. Friendliness and willingness to listen are the starting points for effective collaboration and these you will find here.
Outstanding Characteristics
Sherfield has an extraordinary enrichment programme. They believe enrichment promotes employability, academic attainment and teaches pupils the skills they need to make good, informed choices. A successful enrichment program can promote life-skills, develop soft skills that employers and universities look for, while also giving pupils the opportunity to find out more about their passions.
