The Curriculum

The curriculum at OBH includes not only the formal requirements of Common Entrance, Scholarship and other entrance exams, but also the range of extra-curricular activities that the school organises in order to enrich the experience of the children. Children can choose to take part in anything from horse riding to rock climbing, metal detecting to cookery, and dance to astronomy.

Games & the Arts

The importance of sport and the great pleasure it brings to many is clear to see at OBH. Rugby, cricket, hockey, football, netball, rounders, tennis, golf, squash, riding, shooting, sailing and more sports are all enjoyed by OBH pupils.

At OBH we firmly believe that the arts foster imagination, risk-taking and curiosity – important aspects of creativity.

Pastoral Care

“Both boarders and day pupils benefit from the family atmosphere which is central to the school’s aims and upon which many parents commented positively. Staff do indeed give the pupils ‘freedom to be children’ while encouraging them to become mature and responsible. They know their pupils extremely well and the pupils appreciate the support they receive” – ISI Inspection Report

University Places

Recent scholarships awarded: Academic, tennis, all-rounder, sport, art, drama and academic. Local and national schools – Harrow, Oundle, Uppingham, Stowe, Norwich and Ipswich.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

We are committed to offering all of our children an excellent education inspiring them to achieve their best within a rich, happy, safe and fulfilling school experience, upon which will be built future success.
