The Study Wimbledon had two milestones to celebrate today – the return to school after nine weeks of remote learning and the eagerly anticipated opening of the new Wilberforce House building on Camp Road.
The new building comprises an impressive Performing Arts Centre, six new classrooms, a bright and airy library and a new entrance for visitors. It has been patiently awaiting the arrival of pupils since lockdown started back in early January.
To mark the occasion Head teacher, Miss Ellis, and Deputy Head, Miss Gay, joined the youngest and oldest girls from the school to cut a ribbon. There was much excitement from Reception’s Charlotte and Charlotte, as they helped Olivia and Isabelle from Year 6 hold the ribbon high!
Vicky Ellis said, “We’re so excited to be able to welcome pupils back to school and into our stunning new learning space. The superb facilities will further enhance our high-quality educational offering and breadth of curriculum. We want it to be a building that the whole community can be proud of.”
Whilst the school is unable to welcome visitors, prospective parents are invited to attend Virtual Coffee Mornings being held throughout the Spring term. The next in-person Open Day is scheduled for Saturday 25 September 2021.
