What Will Happen In Series 14?
We got a delicious taste of what’s to come with Gatwa’s Christmas Special episode, where he got to show off what we can expect from the Fifteenth Doctor. Plus, thanks to TV guide listings, we know the following about the first few episodes:
- Episode 1: Ncuti Gatwa stars in his first full series as the Time Lord. In the far future, Ruby learns the Doctor’s amazing secrets when they encounter a baby farm.
- Episode 2: The Doctor and Ruby meet the Beatles during a trip back to the 1960s, but discover that the evil Maestro is hatching a plot to change history, with the Fab Four in the thick of it.
- Episode 3: The Doctor and Ruby arrive on an alien battlefield, where the Time Lord is trapped by a landmine that will go off if he moves.
Of course, we’ve also got the costume drama action to come. We’ll just have to wait and see…
Will David Tennant Return?
After he appeared (and remained) in ‘The Giggle’, we’ve been left with a lot of questions regarding David Tennant’s fate. Will he reappear (again)? Or will Gatwa be left to his own devices? Following the rules of Chekhov’s gun, we’re siding with the former – but only time will tell. That said, writer Russell T Davies pretty much crushed our dreams in a recent interview: ‘David is parked and retired and it’s all Ncuti’s show now,’ he said. ‘Genuinely. Not that David might be coming back — he’s absolutely not coming back.’
‘I think he died,’ the writer added. ‘I’m going to start saying that. He went to Venice, 2063, when the city sank, and he went into a whirlpool, which is really sad…’
Is There A Trailer?
Yes – and you can watch it below.
