Downside School has announced that they will open a new Sixth Form Centre in September 2024.
The centre will be a place where sixth form pupils can study, relax and eat. As well as offering an outdoor space and garden.
Sixth form pupils at Downside study a range of A-levels and BTECs, while taking part in co-curricular activities such as kayaking.
To mark the new centre opening, the school are offering six scholarship places as means-tested bursaries. The scholarships are open to anyone that would like to apply.
Head Andrew Hobbs commented: ‘Our Sixth Form Centre is an incredibly exciting development, and will give our older pupils their own space to work and relax, whilst still being connected to the main part of the school. I really look forward to welcoming all pupils to this new area in September.’
‘At Downside, we believe we provide young adults with the strongest possible foundation for their education. Through belonging to a community in which each individual feels valued and included, pupils grow in confidence and are encouraged to develop their unique gifts, motivated by the joy of learning.’
