The BBC’s favourite game of detection, backstabbing and trust has got us through January – and, after the tense finale, we’re already itching for it to return. But before you get into series 3 (all the details of which can be found here), here’s a recap of what happened in series 2 of The Traitors.

What Is The Traitors About?
The Traitors is a reality game show broadcast on the BBC which sees 22 strangers come together at a beautiful Scottish castle to try and win a prize of £120,000.
How It Works
The series is similar to the party game Mafia, in that amongst the contestants (the ‘Faithfuls’) there are a handful of ‘Traitors’ – recruited by Claudia Winkleman on the first day – who are conspiring to steal the prize pot for themselves. The Faithfuls must try and find out who the Traitors are by voting someone out (‘Banish’ them) at the Round Table, while any remaining Traitors convene in the evenings to send home (‘Murder’) another contestant – who is revealed at the start of the next episode.
Throughout it all, the group of contestants are tasked with missions to win money for the prize fund, with some challenges allowing for some players to visit the Armoury and be secretly awarded a shield that grants them immunity from being Murdered (but not Banished). Attempts to Murder a shielded contestant will result in no Murders taking place that night.
At the Round Table, the player with the most votes is Banished, and they must reveal their affiliation. If Traitors are eliminated at any point in the show by Banishment, they can then recruit another from one of the Faithfuls.
Should the Faithful contestants eliminate all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund, but if any Traitors make it to the end, they win the money instead.

The Traitors series 2 aired on BBC One and BBC iPlayer over the first four weeks of January 2024, with new episodes dropping on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week. You can find the full release schedule below:

Who Won Series 2 Of The Traitors?
Despite the best efforts of the Faithfuls, series 2 of The Traitors was won by Traitor Harry Clark, who bagged a prize pot of £95,150.
Who Are The Previous Winners Of The Traitors?
In 2022, during the first series, a group of three Faithfuls successfully banished the last remaining Traitor in the final – meaning they split the prize pot between them. The full list of previous winners are:

Where Was The Traitors Filmed?
