Fifty percent of its profits go back to charity, too.

Started in 1934 by Gerry Ettinger, the family-run brand is today helmed by his son, Robert. Its focus is luxury leather goods, all of which it makes in its UK factories, and in 1996 it received a Royal Warrant from the then Prince of Wales. Each of its canvas or leather bags is made by hand, using traditional techniques, and brass hardware.

Dating back to 1750, Swaine has been making luxury goods for royalty and the rich and famous ever since. Its leather is sourced from English cattle, and is tanned and shaped in workshops using the bridle leather silage process. This allows the leather to age with grace and stand the test of time. Traditional craftsmanship is at the heart of all its bags: one of its attaché cases takes over 30 hours to make.
