The Regime: Everything You Need To Know
What Is The Regime About?
Detailing events over the span of a year, The Regime follows Chancellor Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet), who oversees a crumbling authoritarian regime. Having not left her palace for quite some time – and dealing with quite a severe case of hypochondria – Vernham becomes increasingly paranoid and unstable. She soon turns to Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a recently-disgraced soldier and Elena’s ‘personal water diviner’, for advice. But as his influence grows, so does her need to assert power – and the resulting chaos leads to the palace’s, and the country’s, eventual demise.
Who Is In The Cast?
The Regime has a solid cast of A-list actors. Aside from Kate Winslet, who plays chancellor Elena Vernham, the show has enlisted the acting talents of Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Galliene, Andrea Riseborough, Matha Plimpton and Hugh Grant.
Other members of the cast include:
- David Bamber
