On the hunt for a property with some history (and a whole lot of glamour)? Laylow, a glitzy private members’ club in Notting Hill, has just hit the market. It’s either a sensational business venture or a truly spectacular home…
Laylow: The Notting Hill Members’ Club Up For Sale
If walls could talk, this beautiful Victorian building would have a lot of stories to tell. Standing proudly on 10 Golborne Road, it previously housed an ultra-cool members’ club called Laylow: a venue that counted celebrities like Kate Moss, Mick Jagger, Madonna, Rihanna and David Beckham among its regular visitors. Encompassing a restaurant, nightclub, multiple bars and lounge areas plus residential accommodation on the upper storeys, it’s got everything you could possibly ask for.
The building in fact started life as a pub before it was bought by Notting Hill-based artist Taz Fustok, who transformed it into Laylow in 2017. The vision for the club was simple: a meeting place for tastemakers and creatives, where they could expect incredible interiors, brilliant food and unbeatable social events.
The interiors themselves were designed by Bella Freud and Dorin & Coppel, with plenty of show-stopping features like parquet flooring, velvet seating and sleek marble surfaces in the bar areas. Upstairs, meanwhile, you’ll find a self-contained, mid-century modern-style apartment (occupied by Taz while Laylow was open) complete with a kitchen, lounge and three bedrooms, not to mention a glorious roof terrace accessed via a spiral staircase.
Laylow operated until December 2023, when it was announced that the club would reopen at a venue in London’s West End. Just like that, the magnificent Notting Hill building hit the market for a rather hefty £5.95 million, and it provides the perfect opportunity for an exciting new business venture – especially since its superb location means that it can be rented out during the infamous Notting Hill Carnival, generating up to £100,000 of income.
However, if you’re simply looking for a show-stopping place to settle down, Laylow would also make a truly one-of-a-kind home. What’s not to love?
