It's time to get writing
ISEB, Independent Schools Examination Board, has partnered with technology platform RM Compare to create a creative writing competition for schools this spring, to mark their 120th anniversary.
Time To Write Applications Now Open
The competition, Time To Write, is open to pupils aged between 7 to 16 years old and will be divided into four categories dependent on age. All applicants will be asked to write a short story based on time travel.
The shortlist will be decided using Comparative Judgement technology via the RM Compare platform. The top ten in each category will be read by a panel of judges.
Judges include Ali Sparks, Dr Ellen Spencer, Emma Drage, Anna Camilleri and Naomi Anderson.
The winning stories will be turned into illustrated books.
The schools of every winning pupil will win £1000 to spend on school equipment with the TTS Group, books from Oxford University Press and a C-Pen Reader 2 Portable Pen Scanner from Scanning Pens.
Winners will also receive Bluetooth speakers and headphones from Altec Lansing, an Amazon Fire Tablet, book vouchers sponsored by Amazon Web Services/Ingram Micro.
The two runners up in each category will also receive prizes.
Entries are open now and will close on 26 April 2024. Find out more at write.iseb.co.uk.
ISEB CEO, Julia Martin, said: ‘In celebrating 120 years at the heart of assessment in the independent school sector, we wanted to bring all schools an exciting opportunity to celebrate our core principles of creativity, inclusivity, innovation, and heritage in an interactive and hands-on way.’
