If you’re missing the emotional rollercoaster that was Daisy Jones & The Six, you’ll be happy to hear that Forever, Interrupted is on the way – a Netflix adaptation of another novel by author Taylor Jenkins Reid. Here’s what we know about the new series.

What Is Forever, Interrupted About?

While we don’t have many details about the show just yet, we know that it will be based on the plot of the book, which tells a heartbreaking story of love and loss. The whirlwind romance between the protagonist, Elsie, and her husband, Ben, comes screeching to a halt when Ben dies just nine days after their wedding. Alone and grieving, Elsie must then contend with Ben’s mother, Susan – since Ben had never told his mother anything about Elsie. A tense beginning blossoms into friendship as the two women navigate bereavement together.

According to Deadline, the series will unfold across two different timelines, flashing back to Elsie and Ben’s love story before jumping forward to Elsie’s struggles in the present. So, think Daisy Jones combined with One Day – and prepare to shed more than a few tears.

Who Will Star?

Margaret Qualley is set to play Elsie, while Laura Dern has been cast as Susan. No other casting announcements have been made yet, but we know that both Qualley and Dern will also be executive producers on the show, with Julia Bicknell (known for Yellowjackets and 13 Reasons Why) serving as screenwriter and showrunner.

Release Date

It looks like production hasn’t started yet, so it might be a while before Forever, Interrupted arrives on Netflix. At least there’s the novel to read while we wait…
