We didn't think you could improve a classic – until now

Feeling the (lack of) heat? Autumn has arrived early this year – and with it, a cold, dry snap that’s playing havoc on our skin. So, how best to stop our skin looking as bleak as the weather? Charlie Colville tries Beauty Pie’s new Super Healthy Skin 2.0 cream in a bid to get her skin back on track.

We Tried Beauty Pie’s Super Healthy Skin 2.0 Cream

Autumn has never been kind to my complexion. The sudden change in weather often leaves my skin feeling dry and sensitive, encouraging a string of unwanted breakouts. Worst of all, however, is that lingering dullness that seems to carry well into winter – and make any fine lines look, well, less fine.

And how best to tackle the seasonal shift? Antioxidants, vitamins and plenty of hydrating ingredients. So, with checklist in hand, I began searching for a new all-rounder face cream that would become a permanent staple in my skincare setup.

The Product

That’s where Beauty Pie comes in. The membership-based beauty brand has created a number of viral skincare heroes since its founding in 2016 – one of them being the Super Healthy Skin Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream.

Since launching in 2017, the cream has routinely topped Beauty Pie’s bestsellers list. And with its ultra-light and hydrating composition, we can see why. Formulated with a face sculpting complex, complexion brighteners, moisture-plumpers, antioxidant free radical battlers, hyaluronic acid and multiple plant actives, it’s essentially a super cream. One designed to target a whole host of issues, from fine lines and wrinkles to dry skin.

But Beauty Pie wasn’t finished there. The brand has been looking for ways to refine the Super Healthy Skin cream – and make it even better. Giving its original formula a vitamin shot, Beauty Pie has levelled up this multi-tasking moisturiser and created the Super Healthy Skin Ultimate Anti-Aging Vitamin Cream V 2.0.

The core ingredients that made the first rendition of Super Healthy Skin so special are still there, but the formula now includes a few extras. It now has greater antioxidant properties, thanks to the addition of grape stem cells and vitamin C (which also helps boost radiance and even skin tone); the ability to better help restore the skin barrier and leave things looking brighter, courtesy of niacinamide B3; and a greater anti-aging impact with the new O-LIFT complex, which helps skin appear smoother, firmer and lifted.

‘The original Super Healthy Skin Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream was amazing, but it had no vitamin B and no vitamin C,’ says Marcia Kilgore, Beauty Pie’s founder. ‘This new formula is like one of those things where you think: “This is way too good to be true,” and then you use it, and you’re like: “No, this is really just incredible, addictive stuff.”‘

Essentially, you’re getting a new Swiss-engineered, super-elevated cream. One which promises to reenergise, brighten, hydrate, lift, smooth fine lines, quench and restore the skin barrier. Sounds like a pretty good deal.

What We Thought

With hopes high, I was keen to get my hands on Beauty Pie’s Super Healthy Skin Ultimate Anti-Aging Vitamin Cream V 2.0. My combination skin was pleading for a chance to try this multi-talented cream, so that it could battle the approaching cold without fear of extreme dryness or sensitivity.

Using The Cream

The cream is one that can be used both day and night – ‘apply generously to your face and neck,’ Beauty Pie instructs – but as an introduction to my skincare routine, I start off with an evening application. Opening the pot, I’m greeted with a super-soft scent reminiscent of roses. A good start, one made all the better by the cream itself.

Pulling a generous dollop from the pot, I can already tell just how nice this will feel on my face; it applies smoothly, gliding over my skin and quickly blending into a light layer. At first, it seems like it might be a heavier cream, but the worry is quickly quashed as the cream gets to work and seeps into my pores in a matter of minutes.

And waking up the next morning, I’m pleasantly surprised to find my skin still feeling hydrated. No oily residue, no leftover shine – just lightly nourished skin. Reapplying the Super Healthy Skin V 2.0 cream again that morning delivered similar results, with a softly dewy look and all-day protection from the elements.

With continued use throughout the week, I could see my skin start to flourish despite the cold. My skin felt soft and plump, dryness was little more than a passing thought, and fine lines started to look less noticeable. The feedback so far? Five stars.

Future Expectations

While my relationship with Beauty Pie’s Super Healthy Skin V 2.0 is still in its early stages, I’m excited to see how much my skin can continue to improve with continual use. Independent clinical trial results revealed that the cream instantly boosted skin hydration (something I can confirm), and improved the following areas in just four weeks:

  • Skin elasticity
  • Skin firmness
  • Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

It seems my skin has plenty to look forward to this autumn. Stay tuned.
