This marks the first Jellycat experience in Asia
Jellycat’s global 25th anniversary celebrations continue with the arrival of a fourth pop-up – and this time, the toy company is taking us to the vibrant cafe scene of Shanghai. Here’s everything you need to know while planning your visit.

What To Expect From The Jellycat CAFÉ Pop-Up In Shanghai
Cafe culture in Shanghai is nothing short of impressive. With almost 9,000 cafes and coffee shops in the city, you’ll be hard-pressed to walk down a street and not spot one (or find yourself not tempted to walking into one). And so, when it came to settling on a concept for Jellycat’s first ever pop-up in Asia, the team thought there was no better inspiration. Following in the footsteps of previous experiences in New York, London and Paris, Jellycat combined its 25th anniversary theme with Shanghai’s city culture – creating an immersive pop-up that would let visitors feel like they’re in a real life coffee shop.
Stepping into the CAFÉ, guests are greeted by rows of baking racks filled with soft toys, alongside ovens that display a countdown while ‘baking’ even more Jellycat treats. Head round to the front counter, and you’ll also find a coffee station, where you can place your order and watch as it’s prepared by ‘baristas’ and ‘bakers’. Once ready, orders are packed in specially designed packaging comprised of tissue paper and a cake box.
Still in its early days, the pop-up opened its doors on 21 September 2024. The grand opening of the Shanghai CAFÉ was a celebrity affair, with musician and (G)I-DLE member Song Yuqi making an appearance at the behest of store manager Bartholomew Bear. Donning a customised apron accessorised with her favourite Jellycat characters, Yuqi met with visitors and fans on the opening day and helped to ‘spread the Jellycat joy even further.’
Which Jellycat Plushies Are At The Shanghai CAFÉ Pop-Up?
A brand new range of soft toys, exclusive to Jellycat’s Shanghai CAFÉ, will be available at the pop-up. The full collection of items available include:
- Amuseables Yulan Taro Cake

How Long Is It Running?
There are no solid closing dates just yet, but we’ve been told the pop-up will close once all the products in the experience sell out.
Where?
On the first floor of the Jing An Kerry Centre (No.1515 Nanjing West Road, Jingan District, Shanghai, China). The department store is open from 10am until 10pm everyday.
To visit the pop-up, guests will need to make a reservation through the Jellycat WeChat mini programme.
Can You Buy The Jellycat CAFÉ Plushies Online?
Unfortunately, all the CAFÉ Amuseables are exclusive only to Jellycat’s Shanghai pop-up. But you can still shop a wide range of plushies (including items from other pop-up experiences) on the Jellycat website. jellycat.com
