Our favourite vampire comedy series is back for its sixth season. But can we expect a reprise? Here’s what we know about What We Do in the Shadows season 7, plus when season 6 will air.

Will There Be A Season 7 Of What We Do In The Shadows?

No, season 6 is the final season of FX’s What We Do in the Shadows, bringing this long-running vampire mockumentary to a close. Set on Staten Island, over five seasons, What We Do in the Shadows has followed the lives (or unlives) of four vampire roommates as they clash with the modern world, other supernatural beings and, of course, each other.

What Is Season 6 About?

Season 6 is underway, and the synopsis gives us an idea of what’s to come: ‘After a very brief stint as a full-blown vampire, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) is re-evaluating his life. Who is he if not a familiar who will do anything to please his Master in hopes of one day being turned into a vampire? Meanwhile, the vampires are reevaluating, too. When their former roommate reappears after a 50-year nap, they realize how little they’ve done in half a century — not one goal accomplished, not one dream pursued, not one part of the New World conquered (except for their street and part of Ashley Street).’

Most of all, don’t expect anything overly sentimental just because this is the final season. ‘We had a lot of conversations about how we wanted to handle it, and the main thing that we all agreed on was that we did not want to do a “very special”, serious final season,’ showrunner Paul Simms recently told Entertainment Weekly. ‘We just concentrated on being funny. I finished editing three of the episodes and I think it’s one of our best seasons yet.’
