The school's latest endeavour reaffirms its core philosophy that ‘no child shall pass their time at Eaton House The Manor unnoticed.’
Exciting news – Eaton House The Manor has announced the opening of a brand new ‘Wellbeing Hub’ – that’s a dedicated space designed to support the emotional and mental health of all their students, fostering a positive and nurturing environment for their growth and development.
What’s more, the Wellbeing Hub will house their medical facility, led by their school nurse Mrs Sophie Boella, who will be available to provide essential medical care and support to The Manor students. Together, the counselling services and medical support within the Wellbeing Hub will create a comprehensive resource for Eaton House The Manor students, addressing their physical and emotional needs.
Eaton House has long been a school to see wellbeing as an essential priority. Mrs Philippa Cawthorne is their Head of Wellbeing and in-house counsellor who is available to support children on a one-to-one basis. She helps children who may be feeling anxious, worried, or lacking in confidence and self-esteem, particularly in relation to their school experiences. Additionally, she teaches mindfulness classes to help children develop coping strategies and enhance their resilience and emotional well-being. If parents feel that their child could benefit from her support, they have the option to speak to their child’s form teacher, who will be happy to facilitate an introduction. This valuable support is offered free of charge.
There’s more. Eaton House has also employed a visiting counsellor and accredited psychotherapist, one Ms Georgina Ross – she has extensive experience in child and adolescent mental health and specialises in helping children manage emotional challenges such as anxiety, behavioural difficulties, grief, exam-related stress and friendship issues. She also supports children facing major transitions, such as parental separation, illness, or school changes.
She combines talking therapies with creative approaches which allows children to express themselves – Ross charges privately for these sessions and parents can approach Philippa Cawthorne if they feel that their children will benefit from her support.
The happiness of the pupils is fundamental at Eaton House The Manor, and part of Principal and Eaton House The Manor Head’s Mrs Sarah Segrave’s passionately-held philosophy that ‘no child shall pass their time at Eaton House The Manor unnoticed.’
