Where to eat in the glamorous metropolis

One of the world’s glitziest locations, Dubai’s food scene is suitably upscale, with an abundance of fine dining restaurants – many perched atop skyscrapers. But it’s not all about the Michelin stars: there’s also a wealth of great street food stalls serving up vibrant Middle Eastern cuisine. So where would the city’s top chefs recommend? Here Cyril Lignac, who recently launched a new branch of Franco-Japanese restaurant Bar des Prés there, shares his favourite restaurants in Dubai.

Il Gattopardo

‘Opening in December 2024 and set to be Bar de Prés’ neighbour, Il Gattopardo is surely on my list. It seamlessly blends Italy’s rich heritage with the vibrant energy of Dubai, offering authentic Italian flavours. Under the expert guidance of executive chef Massimo Pasquarelli, Il Gattopardo promises a timeless culinary journey. As they say, life is meant to be savoured – make it La Dolce Vita.’
