How does The Traitors' host like her eggs in the morning?

From her iconic faux fur coat to her chic blazers, Claudia Winkleman’s outfits are trending right now. But the latest thing that has got fans talking is her food choices – specifically, her favourite omelette recipe. The Traitors’ host revealed how she makes her signature dish on Kathy Burke’s podcast Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake, in which guests are asked to plan their perfect death (sounds morbid, but it’s actually pretty cheery). Keen to give it a whirl? Here’s how Claudia Winkleman makes an omelette.

What Does Claudia Winkleman Like To Eat?

On the aforementioned podcast, Kathy asks Claudia what she would have for her final lunch. ‘My last lunch is roast chicken that’s done a bit too much,’ she reveals. ‘I don’t want moist, I like scratchy food. I would like roast potatoes… there’s going to be a lot of gravy. I’m having a side of macaroni and cheese.’

Claudia also revealed she loves a Ribena – and, in fact, she makes her own squash, which she takes everywhere with her (the TV star has spoken previously about hating water).

When asked how she’d like her dream funeral to be, Claudia says she’d like there to be plenty of food, including little bowls of mac ‘n’ cheese. The final touch? Free tanning booths for attendees, of course (run by her go-to tanning guru Sophia).

Claudia also describes her love for a buffet – and in particular, omelette stations, which she discovered on a cruise and would have at her dream wake. There would also be shots of Bailey’s, and the evening would end with a conga. The podcast ends with Kathy the crucial question: what is Claudia’s favourite omelette?

‘You ready? Because I’m going to be specific,’ she asks, before launching into her recipe. ‘In some butter, I’m frying some onions, I’m adding salt so that they don’t burn. You’ve got your fried onions in there.’

Next up: the eggs – which must be top-quality. ‘I don’t like expensive crisps, or chocolate or ice cream, but I do like an expensive egg… I like a Burford Brown, when the yolk is bright yellow. I’m whipping up two of those, really whipping them, salt, pepper, you’re throwing that on the fried onions. Then you’re grating in some cheddar (mild please, not mature), and then I’m folding it, and I’m crisping it up.’

Perhaps controversially, Claudia prefers her omelette served on a piece of bread. ‘I’m eating that on top of a piece of buttered seeded bread,’ she adds. ‘Mic drop, the end, night night. There is no other omelette.’

TikTok chef Katie Pix decided to have a go at creating the dish, which you can see below – and we’ve pulled together a recipe for those who want to have a go at the Claudia Winkleman omelette.
