The Curriculum

LPS Hybrid offers an innovative approach to modern education offering the flexibility of four days of live online learning and one day of in-school experience. Students follow the same curriculum as their peers at LPS Mayfair and see their Hybrid classmates online every day and in school once a week, whilst also being part of the wider LPS Mayfair community.

Games & The Arts

The in-school day focuses on hands-on lessons and extracurricular activities, including sports, art, and science. Students play team sports with LPS Clapham and LPS Mayfair or take part more individual pursuits at local gyms.

Pastoral Care

Kindness is our founding pillar and runs through all we do. Student wellbeing is critical and we do all we can to ensure that students are safe and happy. Because we are smaller, we know each student extremely well. We have online tutor check-ins twice a day and once a week each student has an in-person meeting with their tutor. Our school counsellor is also available to meet students who may be struggling, and our Learning Enrichment team are there to provide additional support to help students maximise their learning.

Results

Hybrid students are self-disciplined and engaged because they are secure and feel supported. There is a seamless transition seamlessly LPS Sixth for A Levels.

Head Teacher’s Philosophy

The world is changing and education should be part of that. LPS Hybrid offers a new way forward; the opportunity to study at home for four days a week, with one day in school. This gives students the flexibility and individuality that suits them, whilst also enjoying a strong and supportive community. For some, this is the first step back into day school, whilst for others, being on-line and working in smaller groups is the best way to learn.

Outstanding Characteristics

LPS Hybrid is unique. Not all students are able or want, to come into school every day or thrive in a large, busy school. For some, five days in school can be overwhelming or hard to schedule, whilst for others, a fully online school can be lonely and isolating. LPS Hybrid offers a combination of focused, on-line learning with the benefit of the in-school experience – thereby providing children for whom attending school in person may be difficult but who want friends and a community, with the best of both worlds.
