The foodie launches not to miss in the capital this spring

The mornings are feeling a little lighter and the flowers are beginning to bloom, which means one thing: spring is on its way. And what better way to celebrate than with a trip to one of the capital’s buzziest culinary openings? March is another exciting month for the London restaurant scene, with a whole host of eateries poised to open their doors just in time for the new season. From the Pachamama group’s latest launch to a residency from one of the city’s cult pasta restaurants, here are the five new London restaurants you need to visit this March.

New London Restaurants Opening In March 2025

Tatar Bunar, Shoreditch

Restauranteurs Alex Cooper and Anna Andriienko have multiple restaurants across Ukraine, which they have been using as food distribution points during the war. And this March, they’ll be opening their first London outpost, inspired by Alex’s hometown of Tatarbunary. Taking over the old Brindisa site on Curtain Road, the restaurant will be helmed by head chef Kate Tkachuk, showcasing traditional Ukrainian fare to Londoners, such as chicken kyiv and borscht (beetroot soup). There will also be a courtyard decked out with greenery and plants, sure to be popular come summertime.

Food at Knave of Clubs restaurant

One Club Row, Shoreditch

Historic East End pub The Knave Of Clubs is reopening this February following a big revamp, led by trio Patrick Powell, James Dye and Benjy Leibowitz. But in March, the venue is set to get even more interesting thanks to the arrival of a more formal restaurant upstairs, One Club Row. A homage to New York hospitality – inspired by the decade Benjy spent in the Big Apple – the eatery will focus on timeless classics made using British seasonal produce. Starters of lobster and ham croquettes, roasted scallops, and fresh tuna crudo will be followed with kale and lemon pappardelle, and bone-in ribeye, with New York-style cheesecake for dessert. All this can be paired with classic cocktails, champagne and old-world wines.

Tasca, Bethnal Green

Couple Josh Dallaway (a chef) and Sinead Murdoch (a sommelier) are launching Tasca, a year-long residency held at new bar Cav in Bethnal Green. The pair will draw on their extensive travels around Portugal, Spain and the South of France – in particular, the family-run, laid-back family restaurants so often found along the Iberian Peninsula. Like traditional tascas, the restaurant will serve an array of tapas-style bites and pintxos, from cured brine tuna with fried eggs to Dorset clams bathed in Bilbaína sauce. The wine list will focus predominantly on women-founded vineyards, showcasing natural and low intervention varieties from across Europe.

Trullo at Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge

One of London’s most popular Italian restaurants, Trullo in Islington, is heading west for a three-month residency at Harvey Nichols. Opening on the department’s fifth floor, the eatery will serve a special menu of Trullo signatures – jazzed up with some Knightsbridge flourishes. The beloved beef shin ragu will feature, as well as the pici cacio e pepe, but there will also be tagliarini with Beluga caviar, and grilled Dover sole with Palourde clams. Dishes can be paired with Italian wines, including Trullo’s own label Gavi. The perfect post-shopping pitstop.

Nina, Marylebone

It’s been a big period of change for the popular Pachamama Group. Last year King’s Road stalwart Chicama became Bottarga, a Greek-style eatery focusing on small plates. And now the original Pachamama in Marylebone – the group’s first ever restaurant – is becoming Nina. While Pachamama drew on Peruvian flavours, Nina will be all about family-style Italian fare: diners can expect hearty pasta dishes like beef shin tagliatelle, and spaghetti with stracciatella, followed by desserts of tiramisu and burnt cheesecake.

When? Opening 15 March 2025

Where? 18 Thayer St, London W1U 3JY
