1. Milky Whites
First up this season: the revival of the milky nail. ‘Milky white nails have always been a spring-summer staple – almost everyone has tried a white manicure at least once in their lives,’ notes Leighton. ‘It’s a fresh, understated beauty look.
‘And this spring, I’m loving the shift from bold, opaque whites to softer, more translucent milky tones, embracing the “naked nails” look,’ he continues. ‘This nearly-nude finish offers the perfect blend of natural elegance and subtle sophistication, capturing the essence of spring with a soft, ethereal glow that feels effortlessly chic and refined.’
The nail expert also tells us that the trend is picking up speed on the celebrity circuit. ‘Celebrities are opting for a naked manicure to keep things minimal, embracing the natural elegance of softer, translucent hues that let nails breathe while maintaining sophistication,’ he says. ‘We saw Selena Gomez bringing back the look with her “Snow White”, and other A-listers like Anya Taylor-Joy, Reneé Zellweger and Nicola Peltz Beckham have also embraced this more natural, understated style in recent award seasons. ‘

2. Hazy Lavender
But if it’s colour you crave, then why not try of the buzziest hues of the season: lavender. ‘We’re seeing a fresh twist on lavender nails this spring, with the trend now shifting to stripped-down lavender,’ notes Leighton. ‘This is a sheerer, more translucent version of the classic lavender hue. It feels light, airy and soft, with a minimalistic finish that maintains an ethereal vibe. Think of it as the perfect romantic nail look, offering just a hint of colour for those who prefer a more natural, yet elegant touch.’
He cites Sofia Richie-Grainge, ‘who recently traded her iconic blueberry milk nails for a lavender haze manicure’, as an instigator of the trend. ‘It’s the ultimate in understated chic and sophistication, perfect for those looking for a dreamy, almost supernatural vibe.’

3. Hot Hues
The nail expert also predicts a shift towards bright, neon shades in preparation for the summer season. ‘We know soft pastels are making their usual spring comeback, but for those who love to make a statement, this season is all about hot hues,’ he explains. ‘From fiery reds to electric pinks, these bold, vibrant colours infuse your nails with personality, giving that spring feeling. Hot hues are the perfect way to embrace the season’s fresh energy while standing out from the crowd – an alter ego of sorts, for your nails.’

4. Blush Pink
Speaking of pink. ‘Blush pink is a timeless favourite, often the go-to for many when heading to their nail salon,’ says Leighton. ‘Whether you call it candy chrome, balletcore or soap nails, this trend is about achieving a sheer, glossy finish that enhances your nails without overpowering them. It’s the “your nails, but better” look, offering a healthy glow that’s effortlessly chic.’

5. Pastel Yellow
Sunny skies also call for sunny shades – literally. ‘The powder, pastel yellow manicure is making its way to the front of the queue this spring season,’ says Julita Fagan, a Pro Nail Educator at 14 Day Mani. ‘Creamy golden yellow tones evoke a sense of joy and warmth, and they’re exactly what’s needed as we look to lighter and brighter days ahead. Coined by Pantone as ‘Drew Barrymore Yellow’, the softness of this colour trend will be sure to bring a sense of sunny-happiness to your day.’

6. Brown Cow Print
Moo-ve over leopard print, it’s all about the bovine this season. ‘Cow print nails have spun around the block to make their return this spring,’ confirms Julita. ‘But, unlike the original black and white take on this design, brown cow print has effortlessly taken the top spot. This design can be applied on all nails for a fun and funky finish; and it equally looks amazing as an accent nail. For this trend, my personal favourite combination is pairing the brown cow print.’

7. Floral Nails
Florals, for spring? Yes, yes – groundbreaking. But really, it’s the perfect time to give yourself a (literal) green thumb. ‘It’s that time of year where we fill our home and garden with flowers, and the very same ethos can apply to your nails,’ says Julita. ‘Floral nails will always be a popular choice during the season as we welcome in the use of milky pastels and brighter colour palette with vibrant greens.’
It’s also one of the more customisable trends for the upcoming season. ‘Floral nail art will be everywhere. It’s sunny, uplifting and happy, and sparks a lot of joy,’ adds Tinu Bello, manicurist and Senior Mylee Ambassador. ‘It’s the placement of hand-painted or sticker flowers on top of your colour, or natural nail. It can be a floral border at the cuticle or tip of your nail, or it can be one lone flower, or a spattering of them adorning your mani.’

8. Clean Nails
Spring also marks the return of the clean girl aesthetic, says Tinu. ‘Less is more for 2025,’ she says. ‘Clean nails are all about sheer or barely-there polish in shades of ballerina pinks, milky whites and soft nudes. This year we will see them paired with a high-gloss finish and short lengths for a minimalist aesthetic.’

9. Mirror Nails
High-gloss finishes have been growing in popularity over the last year – and this season they reach a crescendo with the mirror nails trend. ‘Mirror nails are the ultimate statement-making trend, without being over the top,’ notes Tinu. ‘A mirror mani has a high-shine finish that reflects light like metal. The finish is achieved by using chrome powders or metallic polishes, and comes in an array of silvers, golds, bronzes and rose golds.’

10. Short ‘n’ Sweet
And finally: short nails. Coming off the natural nails trend, this stylistic choice is all about embracing trimmed, low-maintenance nail shapes. ‘I predict a lot of short lengths, especially in a soft square tapered shape,’ suggests Tinu. ‘These are super low maintenance and versatile for an everyday mani. We will also continue to see a lot of almond shapes, but the length will go from long to medium, to elongate the fingers without any potential inconvenience.’
