The Snow White star is finally coming to London stages

Today, Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals has revealed a huge star is set to cross the Atlantic and make her West End debut this summer. Rachel Zegler will star in Evita at The London Palladium this summer. Here’s what we know so far.

Rachel Zegler To Lead Evita On The West End

Rachel Zegler will make her West End debut this summer in Evita, starring as Eva Perón in Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production directed by Jamie Lloyd. The rest of the cast is still yet to be revealed.

Evita has been such an important musical to me since I was a little girl, when my dad and I would sing “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” together on my back patio,’ Zegler says. ‘The opportunity to bring Jamie Lloyd’s singular, visionary ideas to life onstage is an honour unlike any other. The stage has always felt like home to me, and I can’t wait to make my West End debut in such great company.’

‘I am so excited to be collaborating with the brilliant Rachel Zegler on Evita,’ Lloyd added. ‘She is a phenomenal talent, and I am delighted she will be making her West End debut as the iconic Eva Perón.’

Zegler made her film debut in 2021’s West Side Story, earning the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. She has since starred in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023) and Y2K (2024), and made her Broadway debut opposite Kit Connor in Romeo + Juliet in 2023, starring as the titular ill-fated heroine. She’ll next be seen in Disney’s live action remake of Snow White (2025).

What Is Evita About?

Evita is a legendary play written by EGOT Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, and will be reimagined by visionary director Jamie Lloyd for the West End this summer. We centre on Eva Perón who, fuelled by ambition and passion, rose from poverty to become the most powerful woman in Latin America. A symbol of hope to many Argentines, her star shone brightly as she captured the nation’s heart and divided its soul.

On the famous soundtrack, you’ll recognise ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’, ‘Oh What A Circus’, ‘Another Suitcase in Another Hall’, and the Oscar-winning ‘You Must Love Me’.

Where & When?

Evita will open at The London Palladium on Saturday 14 June 2025, running until 6 September 2025.

Address: 8 Argyll Street, London W1F 7TF
