Considering a hair transformation? These bob hairstyles for blonde hair should provide plenty of inspiration

The biggest hair trend you can hop on right now? A bob. ‘They’re fresh, modern, and effortlessly chic,’ says Becky Lennon, a senior stylist at Nicola Clarke Salon. ‘And the recent “quiet luxury” movement has made them a go-to for a polished yet low-maintenance look.’ And this season, it’s the blonde bob that’s taking the spotlight.

Here, we round up some of our favourite blonde bob looks for 2025 – from sleek and glossy to textured, messy-chic.

Who Suits A Blonde Bob?

Finding the right blonde bob requires consideration of two things, Becky tells us: shade and cut. ‘Most people can pull off a blonde bob, it’s just a matter of finding the right one,’ she says. ‘Cooler blondes suit fair to medium skin tones, while honey and caramel shades flatter deeper tones. As for the style itself, a blunt cut can add fullness to fine hair, while layers soften angular faces.’

How To Style The Look

While maybe not obvious, a major part of the styling process actually starts in the shower. You’ll want to use a shampoo and conditioner that supports blonde hair (dyed or natural) before you even think about the next steps.

‘Use salon quality shampoo to maintain hair integrity,’ advises Becky. ‘Then you can blow-dry for sleekness, or add texture spray for a tousled, effortless look. A deep side parting or soft waves can also give a blonde bob a nice finish.’

12 Blonde Bob Ideas For 2025

1. Blunt Bob

A classic, blunt bob works a treat for any hair colour – but for blonde hair the cut really amps up the glow and shine of the hue. ‘This is a sleek and sharp look,’ adds Becky. ‘It’s also great for fine hair, as it helps create some fullness.’

2. Layered Bob

If you like your bob with a bit more movement, then opt for layers that help remove some of the weight. This will leave more room to create volume and ‘soft movement,’ says Becky. ‘Those with wavy or thick hair might find this particular bob more compatible with their routine.’

3. French Bob

The ultimate chic bob, this style is ‘short and slightly wavy, with plenty of Parisian flair.’ Team up with feathery fringe for a real French vibe.

4. Beachy Bob

‘This style of bob features tousled waves for a relaxed vibe,’ says Becky. Blonde hair gives a beachy bob an especially sun-kissed look (one that will have you craving a beach trip in no time).

5. Platinum Bob

When shades of gold don’t suffice, you can veer into platinum territory. Whether paired with a sleek and classic or textured and layered styled of bob, Becky tells us that platinum remains a ‘bold and striking choice – especially for cool skin tones.’

6. Side Part Bob

For an instant volume hit, try a side part. While middle parts have held the spotlight for some time now, the side part has picked up speed once more. It lends an ‘old money’ feel to blonde hair, making the cut feel super luxe.

7. Curtain Bangs Bob

There are plenty of options when it come to fringe-bob combinations – but curtain bangs are easily one of most flattering. This style of cut expertly frames the face and creates an almost ‘fluffy’ look, making blonde hair appear super soft and healthy.

8. Shaggy Bob

For those not afraid of a little edge, it has to be the shaggy bob. A combination of a shag and a bob haircut, Becky explains that the cut is ‘very textured’ and ‘effortless for thicker hair.’

11. 50s Bob

The most famous blonde bob in history? It has to be Marilyn Monroe’s, of course. It’s not too difficult to match her style – a few rollers here and there – and the results are no less gorgeous.

12. Round Bob

Another signature bob style, the round bob creates a subtle inward curve near the ends of the hair to create a ’rounded’ shape. Combine with some layers to create a soft cut with lots of movement.
