The TV chef's latest school is taking over the third floor of John Lewis in Oxford Street

This spring, Londoners will have a new opportunity to brush up on their cooking skills, thanks to the launch of a flagship cookery school from Jamie Oliver.

Jamie Oliver To Launch New London Cookery School

Opening this May over 4,000 sq ft. of floor space in John Lewis on Oxford Street, the Jamie Oliver Cookery School will offer an array of over 40 classes ranging from Peruvian ceviche to Vietnamese street food and mastering knife skills. Set on the store’s third floor, the school will feature two classrooms, each accommodating up to 24 guests. Both will be kitted out with top equipment, including Samsung ovens, hobs and TV screens.

Alongside signature classes from the original Jamie Oliver Cookery School in Islington, like Pasta Master and Japanese Feast, there will be appearances from a string of guest chefs, including cookbook authors and restaurateurs. Names confirmed so far include Ottolenghi chef Noor Murad, pie connoisseur Calum Franklin and Ben Tish, chef/director of Cubitt House. During the school holidays, the Kids Learn For Free initiative will also return.

Alongside the cookery school, a new Jamie Oliver Cafe is launching in John Lewis, serving filled focaccias, salads, sweet treats, coffee and British sparkling wine. All dishes will be cooked on site, using produce from some of Oliver’s favorite suppliers including bread from The Dusty Knuckle and meat from HG Walters.

‘I’m super excited to be expanding the Jamie Oliver Cookery School, opening our doors so even more people can unleash their inner chef and experience the joy of cooking from scratch,’ says Oliver. ‘Our new home at John Lewis Oxford Street puts us smack-bang in the heart of the city, with room for 48 guests to have all the fun cooking up delicious food. It’s going to be such a buzzing place – I can’t wait to see it in action.’

Cooking classes begin at £59 for 1.5 hours, find out more and book at jamieolivercookeryschool.com
