1. Powder Pink
Love them or hate them, pastels have a habit of creeping up during the spring/summer season. And where shades of pistachio, baby blue and lavender have held a monopoly over previous seasons, it’s a ‘think pink’ situation this time around. One of the leading colour trends for SS25, expect to see powder pink have a real moment across casual and events dressing – especially when combined with playful textures and metallics.

2. 3D Florals
Stepping away from delicate prints and playful chintz this season, designers have instead opted for 3D florals with an edge. Think moody colour palettes, sharp silhouettes, oversized corsages and – in the case of Simone Rocha – actual bouquets sewn into sheer pockets of fabric. This is spring style, without the sugary romance.

3. Soft Filter
Sheer showstoppers continue to be a runway favourite this season – and with warm, hazy days on the horizon, the soft filter effect of gauzy fabric makes perfect sense. The trend has been dressed up in ruffles, florals and sharp tailoring for SS25, with an emphasis on light layering to highlight soft silhouettes, colour gradation and delicate detailing. And while the classic gown remains a favourite, we’re also seeing a number of designers move towards statement separates (like The Garment’s dreamy powder blue suit).

4. Skirts Over Trousers
Unnecessary layers – specifically, the act of wearing a skirt over trousers – may seem firmly rooted in the trends of yesteryear, but designers seem to keen to bring nostalgia back to the runway. Only this time, it takes on a much more refined look, thanks to the addition of sleek tailoring and rich textures. Think skirts draped over matching bottoms, leather trousers casually peaking out from under chain mail dresses and trailing hemlines gathered at the waist to reveal neatly pressed suit trousers.

5. Butter Yellow
As the unofficial colour of the season – maybe even the year? – it wasn’t a surprise to see butter yellow make an appearance on the runway. Designers played into the softness of the hue by honing in on light, floaty materials and loose silhouettes, as well as glossy finishes that emphasised a ‘melted butter’ look.

6. Spring/Summer Showers
Designers didn’t let the bad weather rain on their parade this season. A surprise trend for SS25, raincoats, macs and water-resistant bombers came out as one of the season’s highlights. Styled over dresses, heavy tulle skirts and teeny-tiny briefs, these statement jackets come in bright primary colours, dressed down neutrals and even classic prints typically reserved for trench coats. This is practical fashion, with style.

7. Double Denim
Another Y2K favourite reimagined for SS25 is the double denim trend. Co-ordinating washes, cuts and distressed details, designers really upped their game when it came to denim this season – especially in Copenhagen, where designers experimented with oversized silhouettes, loosely buttoned tops and XXL proportions.

8. Vintage Polka Dots
Cow print might be having a moment in street style, but on the runway the pattern turning heads is the humble polka dot. And it seems designers all had the same memo: simple, monochrome colour palettes teamed up with vintage styling. Uniform dots were the leading rule with this trend, but some played with scale for some fun mix-and-matching (a great example being Bora Aksu’s polka dots layers) and others went slightly off-script with lighter tones of navy (see Edeline Lee) and mocha.
