Go behind the scenes on Country & Town House’s October fashion shoot, where Francesca Barrow takes us for a walk on the wild side with bold prints and luxurious fabrics.
The Shoot
Transporting us both in time and place, October’s shoot oozes essences of tropical daydreams. Hermès scarves bring a touch of the fifties to this shoot, while high-necked silks and the loosely curled blonde locks of cover girl, Diana Tor, send us swirling back to the seventies.
Exuding tropical glamour with sun-kissed cheeks and orange-red lips that hold their own among the lavish and hallucinatory prints from Halsted Design, October’s model, elegantly strewn across the furniture of The Saville Suite at Chelsea Harbour Hotel is almost other-worldly.
While the warming orange tones throughout the shoot spark thoughts of fallen leaves and October pumpkins as we head into Autumn, it is ultimately a secret desire for an Indian Summer that is left to linger.
The Team
Evoking dreams of Africa, the October Issue Shoot was directed by Francesca Barrow and photographed by Andres Reynaga, with the help of hair stylist Takanori Yamaguchi and makeup artist Yuko Fredriksson.
About Halsted Design
Founded in 2013 in South Africa, Halsted Design had the single mission to transform African art into global design.
The sister company to world-renowned Ardmore Ceramic Art, Halsted wanted to share the designs of the ceramics with the world by creating more accessible products.
The first collection was inspired by the original artwork of the handmade ceramics and designed together in the Natal Midlands.
