Amanda Hamilton’s Blueberry Chia Smoothie
Chia seeds are rich in omega-3 which is great at reducing inflammation and supporting your gut lining. Add them to your smoothie last, just before blending, or you’ll find they turn gelatinous on contact with the milk and are a pain to get out of the blender!
1 serving
1 small banana
1 handful of blueberries, fresh or frozen
150ml (¼ pint) non-dairy milk, coconut water or water
1 teaspoon desiccated coconut
2 tablespoons chia seeds (black, white or a mixture)
Phase 2:
Bulk up your smoothie and add extra fibre with 1 tablespoon gluten-free oats and mix in some kefir for valuable probiotics.
Phase 3:
Add 1 tablespoon natural or Greek yogurt to boost the protein level of this smoothie.
On Friday, Nathalie shared her tip for protecting your skin from any winter sun, whether you will be in the Maldives, or on the piste in the Alps.
Nathalie’s top tip for 6 December: Opt for deep burgundy and plummy lip tones to make your teeth look whiter and inject some colour into your face. If you are not brave enough to go really dark, opt for a burgundy tinted balm instead for a stain of colour, like this By Terry balm.
