Head to Chester Cathedral this summer to see the Ark Sculpture Exhibition, which is taking residence between 7 July and 15 October. Containing works by the likes of Damien Hirst, Antony Gormley and Lynn Chadwick, the show will have sculptures travelling from as far as Italy, Belguim and Iceland to be installed for the show.

Ark Sculpture Exhibition
7 July – 15 October | Chester Cathedral
With 90 works by over 50 artists, the sculptures will be crafted from materials including bronze, sterling silver, limestone, granite, leaves, tin and hair.
Scales will vary from just 5cm in size to a 11.6m exhibit that visitors will be able to climb inside.

The exhibition is the largest free to enter modern sculpture show to be held in the North West of England.
Sculptors including Damien Hirst, Antony Gormley, Lynn Chadwick, Barbara Hepworth, Sarah Lucas, David Mach, Kenneth Armitage, Elisabeth Frink, Eduardo Paolozzi and Peter Randall-Page, amongst others.
The total value of the works included will be in the tens of millions of pounds and they will all displayed under the watchful eyes of curators, Gallery Pangolin.
Highlights
Damien Hirst False Idol
Damien Hirst’s False Idol work will be exhibited for the first time since his solo show at the Tate Modern. It’s a calf displayed in formaldehyde solution on a marble plinth.
Joe Rush War Horse
Joe Rush’s impressive War Horse sculpture was on display in the V&A earlier this year.
Antony Gormley Home and Away
See a work in sterling silver by famous sculptor Antony Gormley, creator of the Angel of the North.
