The C&TH Guide to the Biggest Exhibitions of 2018

Quentin Blake’s rarely-seen nude drawings went on display this past week at the House of Illustration. The verve and charisma, which he routinely captures in his individual subjects, make the characters in these sketches unmistakable creations of his. Arrows of Love includes 18 pencil drawings, depicting women embracing – or avoiding – Cupid’s arrow. Quentin Blake’s own reflections on the joy, folly and sorrow of love are at the forefront of these drawings, and not without his signature stroke of good-natured humour.
