Back in October, a landmark listing hit the New York property market: a $49 million duplex apartment within 11 W. 57, a dazzling new skyscraper in Manhattan. This week, however, the bar was set even higher – over 1,400 feet in the air, in fact – as an astonishing ‘quadplex’ penthouse at the very top of the building was unveiled with a $110 million price tag.

While the $49 million property was complete with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, the brand new penthouse boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two powder rooms spanning an impressive four storeys, with its top level crowning the 83rd floor of the building.

Thanks to enormous floor-to-ceiling windows, the penthouse frames breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, with soaring ceilings and sprawling outdoor terraces. Although the buyer will have the opportunity to custom-design the entire space, its current layout includes a magnificent entertaining suite or ‘Great Room’ and guest bedroom suites above, with the principal suite occupying the third level and further living space on the fourth storey – including a bar and a private screening room.

Head down a few floors, meanwhile, and you’ll find an enviable array of residents’ amenities including a spa, pool, and gym, plus plenty of impressive sports facilities, a communal terrace, and even a children’s playroom. It seems that in NYC, $110 million will buy you life in the clouds – and a whole lot of luxury besides…
