This real-life property is a London gem
The year might be drawing to a close, but there’s always new TV to look forward to – and Netflix’s latest release, Black Doves, has become an instant hit. If you’ve been getting stuck into the festive thriller, you’ve likely noticed that it’s set (and filmed) almost entirely in London. Here’s the rundown on one of the most crucial locations: the real-life house inhabited by Keira Knightley’s character and her family.
Where Is The House In Black Doves?
Since Black Doves was largely shot on-location in London, there are plenty of bars, hotels, shops and tourist attractions you can visit – and what was used as the Webb family home in the show is in fact Crystal Palace House, a real-life property.
Tucked away on a leafy suburban street in the capital, the house is complete with an open plan kitchen/dining room, a large sitting room and a cosy TV room. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, two shower rooms and a family bathroom, plus the rather lavish principal suite, which contains a bathroom and a dressing room.
Any Black Doves fans will likely remember the large garden (and the garden shed), but the house also contains a huge basement area with a snooker room, cinema room, sitting room and gym. It’s all fittingly grand for a politician’s family (and a spy).
Can You Visit?
If you want to take a peek inside Crystal Palace House, you’ll need to make a booking first: the property is used exclusively for TV, photo shoots and events. It’s listed (at a price of £210 per hour) on Peerspace, an online directory of rental locations used by everyone from film crews and photographers to party hosts and DJs. So, while you don’t need to be a film star to set foot in this Black Doves house, it might not be a walk in the park. peerspace.com
