Tucked away on Bromley’s Canon Road is a modest Victorian house with more than a few stories to tell: David Bowie relocated there with his family in 1953. Bowie was just six years old at the time, and he stayed only a year before his parents moved again, to nearby Clarence Road, before finally settling into a terraced property in Plaistow Grove, another quiet street in the area, in 1955. (Bowie lived in that particular house for about a decade, but he eventually moved to Beckenham in 1969 as his music career was taking off.)
So, while he might have moved around, Bowie spent most of his youth in Bromley; he attended two schools and a college in the area, and he also frequented Medhursts, the local department store (which has since been taken over by Primark). The Canon Road home itself is just a short stroll from Bickley station.

Inside the property, you’ll find a cosy reception room, a dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, as well as a handy powder room. There are two double bedrooms and a family bathroom upstairs, and the home is finished off with a large rear garden.
This isn’t just a period property; it’s a home brimming with music history. If you want to make it yours, you’ll need a total of £449,500…
