Head to these locations and you just might spot a celebrity or two
From historic developments to handsome townhouses and luxurious new-builds, there’s something for everyone in the capital – but especially those with a staggering budget. If you’ve ever wondered which postcodes are popular among A-listers and billionaires, we asked the experts to give us the rundown. These are the richest areas in London…
What Is The Richest Area In London?
Holland Park
‘Nestled in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Holland Park is often dubbed “Millionaires’ Row” due to its concentration of high-net-worth residents,’ explains Yasmin Ulhaq, founder and director of Glenfield Property Management.
Take a stroll through this gorgeous area and you’ll spot plenty of celebrity homes – Sir Elton John and Robbie Williams both own properties in Holland Park, while the Beckhams reside in a £31.5 million mansion there.
Hampstead
Millionaire’s Row is certainly impressive, but you’ll need to head to Hampstead if you want to catch a glimpse of The Bishops Avenue, or ‘Billionaires’ Row’ – a street that’s widely regarded as one of the most expensive in the world.
‘Hampstead is renowned for its intellectual and artistic heritage, and it’s long been a magnet for creatives and celebrities alike,’ Yasmin explains. Harry Styles, Benedict Cumberbatch and Ricky Gervais are just a few of the area’s notable residents.
Chelsea
With plenty of chic boutiques and magnificent restaurants alongside a vibrant arts scene, Chelsea is certainly one of the richest areas in London. ‘It’s always been desirable location for designers and celebrities,’ Yasmin confirms. ‘Tom Ford purchased his mansion in Chelsea for £80 million in 2024, making it one of the year’s most significant residential deals.’
St. John’s Wood
‘Just north of Regent’s Park, St. John’s Wood offers a suburban feel while being conveniently close to central London,’ says Yasmim. ‘Its elegant villas and leafy streets have attracted numerous celebrities, such as Kate Moss and Sir Paul McCartney.’
Knightsbridge
‘Home to iconic London landmarks like Harrods, Knightsbridge is synonymous with luxury living; its upscale residences and proximity to high-end shopping make it a favoured spot for the affluent,’ Yasmin explains. She also notes that Behdad Eghbali, the co-owner of Chelsea Football Club, recently purchased a penthouse in Knightsbridge for an eye-watering £56 million.
