You can now live in this landmark hotel
You can check out glittering penthouses and converted Wall Street banks, but when it comes to jaw-dropping addresses in the Big Apple, there are few places quite as impressive as the Waldorf Astoria. After a monumental renovation, this historic hotel is set to unveil a collection of branded residences – and ahead of the building’s grand opening, model homes and furnished apartments have just launched. We’ve got all the details.
Inside The Show Apartments At The Waldorf Astoria New York
When the Waldorf Astoria opened on Park Avenue in 1931, it was the tallest – and largest – hotel in the world. Almost a century later, it boasts quite a legacy: Winston Churchill visited frequently; Frank Sinatra rented a suite for $1 million a year; and Queen Elizabeth II even stayed for a night in 1957. (Plus, the hotel was one of the first ever to offer 24-hour room service – and its chefs invented Eggs Benedict.)
There’s even more to the story, however: in 2017, the Waldorf Astoria closed for refurbishment, and it’s since been totally transformed. Alongside gorgeous interiors (as well as meticulously restored elements, including the famous Waldorf Astoria clock), it’s set to unveil a collection of branded residences – and residents can expect an array of private amenities, along with special access to ultra-luxurious hotel services.
While the building’s grand opening is scheduled for spring 2025, model homes and show apartments have just been completed in collaboration with two big names in the interior design world: celebrated designer Josh Greene, and luxury furnishings and design group B&B Italia Group.
Greene was responsible for the three-bedroom model residence, which is complete with custom upholstery, a built-in bar, and a chic blue bedroom. You’ll also spot an eclectic mix of antiques, as well as a selection of pieces from New York-based artists and makers.
When it comes to the furnished apartments, meanwhile, Waldorf Astoria Residences New York is the first and only residential building in Manhattan to offer B&B Italia furniture packages. There are two options available; each provides a distinct colour palette and a curated collection of soft furnishings, wall coverings, and linens. To top it all off, the homes will also be kitted out with state-of-the-art Bang & Olufsen visual and audio equipment. If you’ve ever fancied living in a luxury hotel, now’s your chance…
Waldorf Astoria Residences New York is currently offering homes starting from $1.875 million. For more information, visit waldorftowers.nyc
