Here’s everyone up for an award in March

In case you missed it amid the Oscars hubbub, the nominees for the 2025 Brit Awards were revealed yesterday, showcasing the very best musicians from across the globe – and, of course, championing our homegrown talent.

This year, a whopping 70 artists are nominated across 14 categories. Charli XCX leads the pack with five nominations – though her Brat summer doesn’t quite live up to RAYE’s domination last year when the newcomer bagged six awards from seven nominations. Charli is trailed by pop princess Dua Lipa who has scooped four nominations, including Best Pop Act which she won last year. Alternative groups The Last Dinner Party and Ezra Collective join her with four apiece. Other notable nominations include The Beatles with their posthumous-AI track ‘Now And Then’, and a comeback from The Cure who have secured their first nomination in three decades.

Here’s the 2025 Brit Awards nominations list in full.

This Year’s Trophy

The statuette handed to BRIT award winners is the figure of Britannia, the female personification of Britain, redesigned by a notable British artist, architect or designer every year. Think Vivienne Westwood, Tracey Emin, Es Devlin, Yinka Ilori and plenty more. This year, it’s over to British-Nigerian artist Gabriel Moses who has worked with everyone from Skepta to Burberry. Moses has called the commission ‘truly an honour and something I will always be grateful and proud of’. His statuette will draw inspiration from ‘my upbringing, my Nigerian heritage, sculptural works my mum would showcase all around our house,’ Moses says.
