Missed the Brits in the Oscars noise? Here's who cleaned up – and who missed out

In case you missed it amid the Oscars hubbub, the 2025 Brit Awards took place over the weekend, showcasing the very best musicians from across the globe – and, of course, championing our homegrown talent.

This year, a whopping 70 artists were nominated across 14 categories. Charli XCX lead the pack with five nominations and four wins – though her Brat summer doesn’t quite live up to RAYE’s domination last year when the newcomer bagged six awards from seven nominations.

Charli was trailed by pop princess Dua Lipa who scooped four nominations – including Best Pop Act, which she won last year – though she sadly didn’t walk away with any trophies. Alternative groups The Last Dinner Party and Ezra Collective joined her with four nominations apiece. Other notable nominations include The Beatles with their posthumous-AI track ‘Now And Then’, and a comeback from The Cure who have secured their first nomination in three decades.

Ready to see who won? Here’s the list in full.

This Year’s Trophy

The statuette handed to BRIT award winners is the figure of Britannia, the female personification of Britain, redesigned by a notable British artist, architect or designer every year. Think Vivienne Westwood, Tracey Emin, Es Devlin, Yinka Ilori and plenty more. This year, it’s over to British-Nigerian artist Gabriel Moses who has worked with everyone from Skepta to Burberry. Moses has called the commission ‘truly an honour and something I will always be grateful and proud of’. His statuette will draw inspiration from ‘my upbringing, my Nigerian heritage, sculptural works my mum would showcase all around our house,’ Moses says.
