Everything you need to know about Backyard Cinema’s ‘Paradise City’

Located at Wandsworth’s Capital Studios, which has housed the Backyard Cinema since September of last year, this season’s theme promises feel-good films (including sing-and-dance-along), snazzy cinema snacks – think ‘Backyard Burgers’ and artisan pizzas – and plenty of summer-inspired fun.

A complete refresh from the cinema’s former ‘Winter Night Garden’, ‘Paradise City’ will transport guests to a multicoloured ‘dream world’ replete with giant beanbags, neon lights and, washing machines? Yes, really. Visitors will discover a secret entrance hidden within an old-school-style laundrette leading to ‘Paradise City’ where the fun begins.

As usual, the highly anticipated food offering will be just as appealing as the films and paradisal fun on offer inside. Honest Burgers will be serving up its bespoke Backyard Burger with spicy mayo and tasty tobacco onions, whilst Mother Clucker’s buttermilk-battered Cluck Bun will also be on offer, along with a range of vegan options.

For those who fancy a tipple (or two), get into the sprit of summer in the tropical drinks garden where you can indulge in the likes of Champagne slushies, garden-inspired cocktails, Meantime’s Backyard Lager and more.

Far from your average movie-watching experience, the immersive cinema specialists will be hosting light shows, tropical parties and even live performances, showcasing summer-inspired cult classics in a whole new light, from a Grease sing-along to Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman and Mama Mia, to name but a few.
