Everyone's talking about Netflix's new four-part drama. If you've already raced through it, here are nine more Stephen Graham performances to add to your watch list

While he’s been a familiar face on TV and film screens for decades now, this Scouse star is really hitting a crescendo. The turning point? Perhaps it was Stephen Graham’s lead role in Line of Duty series 5, or perhaps his turn in White House Farm (2020), though we’ve always loved him in This Is England. But 2021’s Boiling Point is a real stand-out: a one-shot chef drama written and directed by Philip Barantini. It’s a fizzing, intense portrayal of a fine dining kitchen in calamity, bagging four nominations at the BAFTAs, including a nod for Graham’s role as buckling chef Andy. Since this slew of eminent roles, Graham was appointed OBE in 2023, solidifying his place among Britain’s shiniest stars.

And now another collaboration between Graham and Barantini has captured the nation’s attention: Adolescence, a four part drama centring on a teenage boy accused of murder, with each episode filmed in one continuous shot. It has sparked a national conversation about digital consent and the radicalisation of teenage boys – and the series creators are hoping the government will take note, too.

If you’ve already raced through the four episodes and you’re left wanting more, we’ve gathered Stephen Graham’s top performances to tune into next.
