Bodkin is led by Saturday Night Live alum Will Forte
On the hunt for another cri-fi series to sink your teeth into? Lucky for you, Netflix has just the thing. Set in a quaint Irish town with a dark secret, Bodkin is an upcoming comedy thriller that promises to put a fun (if a little weird) spin on the genre – and it drops this May.
Bodkin: Everything We Know So Far
What Is Bodkin About?
Bodkin follows American podcaster Gilbert Power (Will Forte), who travels over to the small town of Bodkin in Ireland to try and find his Irish roots – and, in the process, stumbles across a story from half a century ago, where it’s said that three locals vanished during the annual Samhain celebration. Unable to resist investigating, Gilbert takes it upon himself to find out what happened, and is joined by investigative journalist Dove (Siobhán Cullen) and podcast assistant Emmy (Robyn Cara). However, all is not as it seems, and things soon start to get darker and weirder. As Netflix summarises:
‘Bodkin is a darkly comedic thriller about a motley crew of podcasters who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in an idyllic, coastal Irish town. But once they start pulling at threads, they discover a story much bigger and weirder than they could have ever imagined. As our heroes try to discern fact from fiction — about the case, about their colleagues, and, most painfully, themselves — the series challenges our perception of truth and exposes the stories we tell ourselves to justify our beliefs or validate our fears.’
Who Stars?
Bodkin places Will Forte (The Last Man On Earth, Saturday Night Live), Siobhán Cullen (The Long Call, The Dry) and Robyn Cara (Ackley Bridge, The Rising, Doctor Jekyll) in the lead roles of Gilbert, Dove and Emmy, a small team of amateur investigators keen to crack a number of missing persons cases in a small Irish town.
