Plus: the best displays to see this weekend
Chelsea in Bloom has brought the Chelsea Flower Show magic out of the bounds of Royal Hospital Chelsea and into the pretty west London streets. The winners of the show were revealed last night in a ceremony. Lucky for us, the installations will remain on display all weekend – here are the winning displays to catch a glimpse of.
Chelsea In Bloom Winners Are Revealed
The Chelsea in Bloom winners have been revealed, with chic hotel 11 Cadogan Gardens bagging the top prize of Best Floral Display with its Peter Rabbit installation. Highly Commended is Birley Bakery with its My Fair Lady display, while the National Army Museum bagged the Innovation Award with its Fury installation.
The remaining participants were then awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze, with 22 participants bagging Gold accolades, including Kiki McDonough (The Jungle Book), LK Bennett (My Fair Lady), Tiffany & Co. (Breakfast at Tiffany’s) and Sticks’N’Sushi (The Last Samurai).
The world-class floral art show returned for 2023 earlier this week, with the theme ‘Flowers on Film’. Over 95 shops, restaurants and hotels have taken part – so there’s plenty to see if you fancy a stroll through Chelsea, including:
- A life-size T-Rex on Sloane Square
- An immersive Wizard of Oz tunnel
- A huge gold Oscar statuette on Pavilion Road
- The Chelsea ‘walk of fame’ on Pavilion Road
- A ‘Box Office’ on Sloane Square where rickshaw rides and walking tours can be booked.
On the judging panel, and crowning the winners, were a group of official judges from the Royal Horticultural Society, the editor of Sloane Square magazine, and influencer London is Pink.
If you’d like to have your say, voting is still open for The People’s Champion Award. Cast your vote before 23:59 on 25 May at chelseainbloom.co.uk, and keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of the winner on 26 May.
