The Karate Kid fans have been blessed with a whopping six seasons of goodness in the form of Cobra Kai, a reboot of the original trilogy of films following the same characters more than 30 years later. With Season 6 Part 1 streaming now on Netflix, only one question remains: will there be a Cobra Kai season 7?

Will There Be Cobra Kai Season 7?

No, there sadly will not be a seventh season of Cobra Kai, as the series creators confirmed back in January 2023. ‘Our day one goal with Cobra Kai has always been to end it on our terms, leaving the Valley in the time and place we’ve always imagined,’ Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg expressed in a co-signed letter. ‘So it is with immense pride and thankfulness that we are able to announce that achievement. The upcoming Season Six will mark the conclusion of Cobra Kai.’

And the series is indeed going out with a bang, with three five-episode drops to keep fans keen. ‘While this day may be a bittersweet day for the fandom, the Miyagiverse has never been stronger,’ the team added. ‘This fandom is the BEST on the planet and we hope to be telling more Karate Kid stories with you down the line. Because as we all know, Cobra Kai Never Dies.’

Does this mean the door is open for a spin-off? Our fingers are crossed…

What Is Cobra Kai About?

Cobra Kai is a martial arts comedy drama, and a sequel series to the ‘80s films The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II and The Karate Kid Part III. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprise their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence respectively to reexamine the Karate Kid narrative from Johnny’s perspective, 34 years after being defeated by Daniel.
