It’s set to be a big one, celebrating 75 years of Formula 1 at the iconic circuit.
Last year, a record-breaking crowd of 480,000 descended on Silverstone for the British Grand Prix weekend, and with 2025 marking 75 years of F1, this year is set to be bigger and better than ever. With over seven decades of motorsport history, this is the place to tap into the fastest sport on the planet, but can you still get your hands on tickets, and what should you expect from this year’s event?
When is the British Grand Prix 2025?
This year’s F1 Silverstone Grand Prix will take place between 3-6 July 2025.
Free practice takes place on Friday 4 July, qualifying on 5 July and the race on 6 July 2025.
Which British Drivers Will Be On The Starting Grid?
Of course, Sir Lewis Hamilton will be making his Silverstone debut as a Ferrari driver, hoping to add to his tally of nine wins at the home of British racing. His old teammate George Russell is now the lead seat at Mercedes, Lando Norris is the title favourite in the McLaren while Ollie Bearman is a rookie for Haas.
What Else Is Happening At Silverstone?
Across race weekend, there is a host of on-track action to enjoy. As well as the F1 practices, qualifying and race, there will also be F2, F3 and Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup races, plus other events to be announced.
Away from the track there’s plenty happening, too. The weekend’s celebrations will be opened with a main stage concert from BRIT award winner Sam Fender, followed by headline slots from Raye, Becky Hill and Fatboy Slim across the weekend. Elsewhere there will be crowd participation and entertainment at Made At Vale, and F1 personality appearances at Drivers Inn.
The Fan Zone includes activities such as a wheel-changing pit-stop, reaction-testing Batak light wall and racing simulators, plus the chance to see the cars up close. The Family Zone has lots of child-friendly activities and rides, and there are food and drinks outlets across the site.
The Silverstone Official Afterparty will keep the site alive long after the cars have entered the pits for the last time (and the legendary Silverstone post-race traffic jams have died down), with renowned DJs hitting the decks and helping fans celebrate, or commiserate, whatever the outcome.
