All the rumours to keep your eye on

Another year, another race to secure tickets for Glastonbury Festival, which will return to Worthy Farm from 25–29 June 2025. Whether you bagged your place or you’ll be watching from home for another year, here are all of the headliner rumours for 2025.

Glastonbury 2025: Headliner Rumours

In 2024, Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA topped the Glastonbury bill, with Shania Twain filling the Legend slot. Exciting for some but underwhelming for many, it seemed Glastonbury had lost a little of its signature sparkle. Nevertheless, so iconic is Glastonbury that countless fans attempt to snap up tickets every year – shelling out almost £400 this year before the all-important line-up is even announced.

So, who did lucky ticket holders pay to see? We won’t find out until the new year. But, with a fallow year scheduled for 2026 and mixed feedback on the 2024 line-up, we’re sure festival organiser Emily Eavis will be keen to make Glastonbury 2025 a big one. With names like Rihanna and Eminem floating around, here are the big names the rumour mill is championing…

Taylor Swift

After her mammoth Eras Tour, Taylor Swift insists 2025 will be a year of rest and recuperation – and a hiatus from touring. But could she put a pause on her break for an opportunity like Glastonbury? We think so – especially after Covid put an end to her 2020 headlining slot at Worthy Farm. And if she was worthy of a headliner slot back then, take a look at her now…

Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo

Playing in Dublin on 24 June and BST Hyde Park on 27 June, it might be this pop star’s time to claim her Glastonbury wings before she journeys up to Manchester for her three postponed Co-Op Live performances from 30 June to 1 July. After two smash hit albums, Olivia Rodrigo has experienced a meteoric rise from Disney star to pop-rock megastar in just four years, all snowballing after the release of her debut single ‘Driver’s License’ in 2020.

Sam Fender

Tyne and Wier’s beloved Sam Fender made his Glastonbury debut in 2022 – and with a third album scheduled for release in February 2025, it might be time for the northern lad to fill the headline slot. Famed for his catchy tunes that speak to a whole generation, this pick would fulfil the rumour that Glastonbury is looking to lean back into its rock roots.

The 1975

The 1975

With five albums under their belt and three Glastonbury performances in their back catalogue, a lot has changed since The 1975 last performed at Glastonbury in 2016. Off the back of two hit ‘At Their Very Best’ global tours – which attracted buzz, headlines, new fans, controversy and, most of all, conversation – it may well be time for a return for the Manchester stars. And where better than the headline slot? Is this, perhaps, what the band has even been waiting for? 2025 could well be the year.

Cher

Larger than life Cher is rumoured to take the Legends Slot at Glastonbury 2025 – which would be a fab follow-up to 2024’s Legend, Shania Twain. And with her two part memoir top of the news agenda, the Goddess of Pop is just as relevant as ever.

Billy Joel

Touring the UK around the time of Glastonbury 2025, Billy Joel is another rumoured Legend.
