A series of ‘In Conversation’ events has launched to bring guests together over food, drink and conversation that investigates life, literature and everything in between.
A Captivating ‘In Conversation’ Series Launches at The Calcot
There is perhaps no better way to begin the ‘In Conversation’ series than with Dolly Alderton on 26 July. Those who don’t know Dolly from her instant-hit ‘Everything I Know About Love’, a Sunday Times bestseller within its first week of publication, might know her journalism from publications including The Telegraph, GQ, The Sunday Times, Stylist, ELLE, Red Magazine and, of course, The High Low podcast with Pandora Sykes.
On 3o August, the series will include Bryony Gordon, the Telegraph journalist and best-selling author of ‘Mad Girl’, ‘The Wrong Knickers’ and most recently ‘Eat, Drink, Run’, which chronicles her marathon mission and how running saved her life. Bryony founded the walking group Mental Health Mates, raising awareness for Royals Charity Heads Together. She also started the podcast Mad World, which kicked off with Prince Harry and has included Stephen Fry, Melissa Hemsley and Fearne Cotton.
Later in the year on 25 October, Sophia Money-Coutts, the Telegraph’s Modern Manners columnist, will speak about her debut-novel, ‘The Plus One’. The former Tatler Feature Director will also share her experience from reporting for CNN on royalty and ‘whats posh and whats not’ intel.
Priced at £40 per person, the events will take place in Calcot’s refurbished barn from 6:30pm and will include a welcome cocktail or glass of fizz and a delicious dinner straight from the wood fired oven created by Head Chef Richard Davies. Pizzas, Middle Eastern flat-breads, a selection of seasonal salads and sweet treats will top off the evening’s entertainment. Following a Q&A, guests will be able to ask their own questions and have book copies signed, which will also be available to purchase on the night.
Further ‘In Conversation’ events will be announced across The Calcot Collection, comprised of Calcot, Barnsley House, The Village Pub and The Painswick in the Cotswolds, as well as The Lord Crewe Arms in Northumberland.
