What exhibition should we not miss in London?Grayson Perry: The Most Popular Art Exhibition Ever at The Serpentine (8 June to 10 Sept. serpentine galleries.org). It’s interesting to note that he was dismissive of Australian Indigenous art until he travelled to Sydney in 2016, where he had a change of heart. I love and admire his work.

Best show outside of London this summer?
Picasso was not keen to admit how strong the influence of non-European or primitive works were on his art, but his collection of artefacts from Africa, Oceana, Asia and the Americas, was a constant presence in all his studios. Picasso Primitif at Musée du Quai Branly Jacques Chirac in Paris, delves into his broad-ranging inspirations and is a fascinating insight into the great man’s work (until 23 July. quaibranly.fr).
Which auction should be on our radar?
Phillips Auction House and LeCiel Foundation, which raises awareness about our increasing disconnect with nature and the dangers that poses, are hosting a fabulous fundraising exhibition called Wisdom and Nature, in London (4–8 September), and later in Paris and New York, with the final sale taking place on 1 November. Thirty-five contemporary artworks portraying the beauty of the planet and donated by art enthusiasts will go under the hammer (lecielfoundation.com).

Who has the most interesting exhibition space at the moment?
The Royal College of Art in Battersea. The entire campus becomes an exhibition space for hundreds of graduating students from departments including sculpture, painting, contemporary art practice and film (24 June to 2 July. rca.ac.uk).
Who has a good eye for new talent?
Vanessa Carlos at Carlos/Ishikawa gallery in Stepney. The artists she shows are contemporary and full of energy.
Who will be throwing the best party?
The V&A Summer Party surpasses the rest.
What was the last piece of art you bought?
What was the last piece of art you bought? A small but beguiling painting by Ralph Anderson. The work is now hanging in the main living space of our contemporary Battersea apartment.
What has been your most extravagant purchase?
A large painting by Australian artist Sonia Kurarra, who paints the sandy billabong country along the stretch of the Fitzroy River. I can’t resist her stunning work.
If you could buy any piece…
It would be a major work by Jackson Pollock. His work ignited my passion for abstract art (helped along the way by the late Robert Hughes’ book The Shock of the New).
Most exciting thing about the UK art scene right now?
Most exciting thing about the UK art scene right now? The sheer number of galleries and museums in the UK presenting diverse and high quality exhibitions, as well as a large group of amazing specialists in their field. Not forgetting the Tate Modern extension and Tate St Ives, as well as exciting curatorial appointments at the V&A and Royal Academy.
What would you like to see a lot more of?
Monumental sculpture in the public arena and more content in the media about contemporary living artists and their impact on society.
