Madison: Everything We Know About The New Yellowstone Spin-Off

Taylor Sheridan and John Linson’s Yellowstone universe is wildly popular. And – even though there won’t be a Yellowstone season 6, and season 5 part 2 will be released minus one major character due to an unresolved spat – we see no sign of the franchise slowing down. Introducing Madison: the new Yellowstone sequel reportedly in the works. Here’s everything we know so far.

Madison: Plot, Cast, Release Date

The Yellowstone franchise is back in the spotlight thanks to this new tidbit: a sequel series entitled Madison is reportedly in the works at Paramount, starring none other than Michelle Pfeiffer, who most recently starred in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Pfeiffer who will also executive produce.

‘Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,’ says Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global. ‘She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.’

What Will Happen In Madison?

Details are scant so far, but here’s what we do know: Madison will be a heartfelt exploration of grief and human connection following a New York City family that relocates to the Madison River valley in central Montana.

Originally, it was reported Madison would kick off after the death of the husband and brother-in-law of wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn, prompting the cross-country move, but it’s not clear whether this is still the plan. Likewise, Variety is reporting Madison was previously in development under the title ‘2024’, though this has not been confirmed by Paramount. Picking up where Yellowstone leaves off, rumours have swirled around 2024 since early 2023, with Matthew McConaughey rumoured to star. Hopefully all of these rumours prove true so McConaughey and Pfeiffer can form a western powerhouse.

Who Will Star?

Only Michelle Pfeiffer is confirmed so far, but Patrick J. Adams, Beau Garrett and Kurt Russell are all rumoured to be joining her for Madison.

Release Date

No news just yet on when we can expect to see Madison on our screens. However, filming is reportedly set to get underway this month in Montana, New York and Texas, so our fingers are crossed for 2025.
